Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

My condolences to Mary's family on her passing. Mary was a wonderful lady who regularly attended our bingo night at Westwood Estates. From the first time she came, I had the privilege of sitting beside her for almost all the time she played bingo. We always had a lot of fun together, and I miss our "lucky shoulder rubs". She was usually much luckier than me, but occasionally I passed the luck to her. She had a phenomenal memory for recalling which numbers had been or not been called that evening. Her favorite number was N43, which had previously been my aunt's favorite number. To this day, I think of both of them every time this number is called. Even when she was having a lot of pain in her hand and arm, she tried very hard to come down for the evening. She was always cheerful and she seldom complained about the pain she was having. She often spoke about her daughter and grandchildren. She was always so thankful for everything her daughter did for her. She loved spending time with her family and always had things to tell me about her grandchildren. Her family was the light of her life and she treasured every moment she spent with them. Although I wasn't part of the group, she also looked forward to the days she played cards with other tenants in the block. She loved her chicken from Superstore, which we occasionally picked up for her. Unfortunately, I lost touch with her during and after Covid, but I received occasional updates from her close friends in our block who visited her regularly. I know she suffered for a long time and it is a comfort to know she is now at peace. I hope her family is also comforted knowing her suffering is behind her. Rest in peace Mary. - Posted by: Donna Friese (friend) on: Jun 01, 2024
