MICHAEL KYLUK
On May 23, 2024, our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, Michael Kyluk, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 at Concordia Place Personal Care Home.
He was predeceased by his wife of 71 years, Mary, his parents, Molly and Nicholas, his brothers, John, Dick, Bill and Alex and his son-in-law Douglas Manitowich.
His memory will always be cherished by his daughters, Linda Manitowich and Donna Topp, grandsons, Derek Manitowich and Bryan Topp (Emma), great-grandchildren, Ella and Marin Manitowich and Kaden Topp, brother Peter (Agnes), sister Mary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Michael was born in Hafford, Saskatchewan in September of 1930 and at the age of 16 moved to Winnipeg where he took up the profession of tailoring when he went to work at his brother Bill’s tailor shop. This eventually led to a position as a Quality Assurance Supervisor at the DND at CFB Winnipeg where he remained until his retirement in 1991.
When dad moved to Winnipeg he met the love of his life, Mary and in June of 1951 dad and mom were married and resided in Transcona for 71 happy years. Mom and Dad loved their music and enjoyed going out dancing. Dad was a perfectionist and took great pride in any projects he undertook from tailoring to building the cottage at Nutimik Lake. He enjoyed gardening and going for his morning walks. Dad was a generous and kind soul who was always ready to lend a helping hand. Family was the most important part of Michael’s life and many vacations were spent visiting the family out west.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Concordia Place Personal Care Home for the kindness and care given to Michael these past two years.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the charity of your choice.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 7, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of All Saints, 1500 Day Street followed by interment at Transcona Cemetery.

Uncle Mike was a gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor and always had a kind word for all who knew him. He was definitely a favorite uncle as he and I would catch up on what was happening in our lives and I always felt his love, support and interest in me and my family. Your love for your family always shone through, especially for your daughters and grandchildren. Thank you for being a caring uncle to me, Uncle Mike. May you rest in peace.
