EVELEEN PIERSON LAWRENSON

July 18, 1927 – May 26, 2024


Eveleen passed away peacefully at the age of 96, at Concordia Hospital where she received compassionate care.

Those left to cherish her memory are her nephew Fred (Janet); great-niece Dorothy Lawrenson; great-nephew Chuck (Danea) Lawrenson; great-great-nephew Mercer (Rachelle) Heath; and Takis Lawrenson; great-great-nieces, Celeste, Avril, Phoebe, Sonnet and Bronte Lawrenson. She also had the distinction of having a great-great-great-nephew Boaz, and a great-great-great-niece Shira. Eveleen liked to recount these relationships at gatherings. On the Pierson side of the family she leaves her first cousins, Helen Delorme and Marlene Bethea and second cousin Valerie Robinson.

Eveleen also had many friends and loved spending time with them.

Her husband Arthur Lawrenson predeceased her on October 24, 1975.

Eveleen was born in Crystal City, Manitoba, being the only child of Bert and Hanna (nee Pierson) Sando. Having graduated from Pilot Mound High, her first job was at the Co-op Store there.

After moving to Winnipeg in 1948, she attended Herzing Business College and then worked for Domtar as well as Melrose Coffee as a bookkeeper.

Eveleen enjoyed life to the fullest. She especially loved meeting new people and being active in sports such as golfing, bowling, floor curling, lawn bowling, and darts. She and her lifelong friend, Betty Charette, travelled in Europe and North America.

Eveleen lived on Grant Avenue for many years and recently moved to the Waverley Retirement residence on Wilkes.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place and the ashes will be interred in Chapel Lawn Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024, at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB.
