With heavy hearts, we announce that Evelyn I. Allen passed away on May 31, 2024, in Tuxedo Villa Extendicare, Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 92.
She is survived by her children, Glenn Allen (Diane Pearce) and Valerie Bakker; her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sara, Kristina, Katie, and Kim; her great-grandchildren, Toby, Emily, Victoria, Hannah, and Sophia; and her two remaining siblings, Margaret (her dear younger sister) and Sveinn (Ab).
Much gratitude to the staff of Tuxedo Villa Extendicare for their care from August 2023 till her passing. A special thanks to the staff and family of Thorvaldson Care Centre where she resided from September 2016 till August 2023. Those were some of her happiest years.
The family expresses gratitude to Ethical Death Care for their touching photo-biography video honouring Evelyn’s life, accessible through the ‘tributes’ link at the bottom of this obituary.
In Accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and no formal service will be held. A graveside interment for both Evelyn and her husband (Doug Allen) who predeceased her in 2010 will be held this summer.
