Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • I met the St Germain family many years ago when I decided to take vocal lessons from Ray. He helped me discover things about my voice I didnt know before and he and Glory are the best!! This is a very special family, the relationships within the family are amazing, strong, respectful and amazing. My sincere condolences to all the St Germains in this huge loss. Just know you are loved, respected and admired. All the very best over this difficult time. BLESS you all!!!! - Posted by: Trudy Johnson (friend) on: Dec 09, 2024

  • I ‘attended’ the funeral virtually and was so pleased to be able to do so. What a beautiful tribute to a very admirable man! Both his music and his honourable, kind, and humble reputation are indeed rare virtues! I was first introduced to his talent about 5 decades ago at the Niverville Fair…and I’ve enjoyed his musical gift ever since. My father was the Fair manager at that time. This year, our Niverville Fair was honoured to have his daughter Catie perform on our stage! My son is currently the Fair manager. The beat goes on!!! May Glory and the entire St. Germain family find sweet comfort in all the wonderful memories you all share. - Posted by: Elaine Krahn (Fan) on: Jul 06, 2024

  • I will always remember the phone call. In the summer of 1984 Ray called me personally to see if I was interested in participating in a tour of the Canadian Armed Forces bases in Germany, Israel and Cyprus. I couldn’t believe my ears! Not only that, he came over to my place to talk about the show! Of course I came on board immediately and thanks to Ray and Glory l got the chance to live an adventure of a life time. Great memories were made but none greater than getting to know the man himself, the one and only Ray St. Germain. - Posted by: Vince Dureault (Professional friend ) on: Jul 05, 2024

  • Our family want to say how sorry for you and your family's loss. Ray is a Canadian icon and those of us who grew up hearing his music will always cherish that and his music will live on. I sure can believe that Ray was a good man and a family man. You got a sense that he was a genuinely good hearted man when he spoke. - Posted by: angela isaac (fans of Ray) on: Jul 01, 2024

  • We went to Lorne Central Theatre in Somerset, and I think, but memory sometimes fails when you're 80+, he was playing with the Ray Little band, I haven't seen any info on that in the bio I looked up, he seemed to be shy, but I was more shy and never got up the nerve to ask for his autograph. He was a moving force for APTN. My brother used to have a beer with him once in a while at some pub in St Vital? St Boniface? He's an important part of our kind of music in Manitoba. Sincere condolences to your family. It must have been a real suffering for him, having Parkinson's and having been a great musician all his life, depending on the steadiness of his hands. I bet my brother and your dad/husband are in a place where the music flows and the beer is on tap. - Posted by: Ilene Thevenot (Fan) on: Jun 30, 2024

  • I remember meeting with my friend Brian Nash. - Posted by: Joyce Lancaster (friend) on: Jun 29, 2024

  • Our Family wanted to express our condolences for your loss. Ray was always friendly to anyone he met. A gentleman. - Posted by: laurie mckenzie-tann (Son Ian was a student of Glory. ) on: Jun 29, 2024

  • I was very sorry to see of Ray's passing. It brought back very old memories of Ray, and all the others involved with the music scene "back in the day". - Posted by: Pat Cooper(nee McMullin) ( Through my Dad, Bob McMullin) on: Jun 29, 2024

  • Glory I was very touched watching the street dedication. Even in weakness, your husband showed such strength. Though we have not seen each other in many years, I wanted to send my condolences to you and your family. Sincerely, Erica Schultz. - Posted by: Erica Schultz (Colleague) on: Jun 29, 2024
