Laurie was special to our family especially when we lived in student quarters at UBC. He would often baby sit our daughter Whitney and he took this on when I had to give birth to our son Paul, having to stay very late. He taught me how to make perogies and when we came to Winnipeg for Christmas or other times, he would include in on family meals. His mother was a fantastic cook and I always came away feeling as though I had gained 5 pounds with all the food I consumed. Laurie and I corresponded over the years and his letters were thoughtful and fun of sage advice. He will be missed. - Posted by: Jennifer Zelmer (Friend) on: Jul 20, 2024
