BERNHARD (BEN) WIEBE

It is with heavy hearts and much love that the family announces the sudden passing of Bernhard (Ben) Wiebe on July 18, 2024, at the age of 70.

Dad was predeceased by his wife Patricia (Pat), mom Katarina, dad Heinrich, sister Margaret and brother-in-law John. He is survived by his children Sheryl (Mike), Amy (Don), and Christopher (Reena); partner Irene; grandchildren Dylan, Shelby (Samantha), Shayla, Isabella, Max, and Haven; great-grandchildren Jaxton, Patrick, and Everleigh; sisters Lena (Marc), Nellie, and Tina (Roland); brothers Cornie (Eve), Henry, Peter (Leah), and Jake (Shannon); along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Dads' life began on November 5, 1953, in Colonia Menno Pry, Paraguay. Dad and his family came to Canada in 1968. In his early years dad lived on the family farm in Grunthal, MB. Shortly after, dad met mom and they married in December of 1975, then they moved to Sundown, MB. Dad spent his career primarily in the construction industry working for different companies and ending with Sigfusson Northern. During his retirement years he worked for his nephew (Wally) as well as brother-in-law (Walter). Dad had many talents making something out of nothing even if it required welding, carpentry, mechanics, electrical and plumbing. If something was broken, he could fix it. His passions were gardening, hunting, and fishing but primarily spending time with his family and friends. Mom and dad moved to Winnipeg in 1983 then found their forever home years later east of Anola, MB in 1998.

Dad was always full of life, always very busy in the yard with his wood, garden, and apple tree. If you ever thought, you were stopping at Ben’s for a minute you were mistaken. He showed you all his prized possessions and by the time you knew it an hour had gone by.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave at Henderson Hwy in Winnipeg, MB. Interment to follow at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery, in Arbakka, MB.

Dad you are truly loved by all. Your sayings will be remembered daily.

Your warmth, strong character and your choice of words, wisdom and big heart will be remembered, loved, and missed by all of us. Your passion, love and determination will never be forgotten.

We always said if it was broke, take it to papa and he would fix it. You truly have left a footprint in all our lives.

We Love you “Chum”
