Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWAYNE ROBERT ZAJAC
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend on July 19, 2024, at St. Boniface Hospital. We mourn the loss of Wayne who passed peacefully surrounded by his family. Wayne is now reunited with his parents, Stella and Harry and his brother Brian.
Wayne leaves to mourn his wife Debbie, children, Tara, Brett (Laura), Lisa (Joshua), Ryan, grandchildren, Owen, Henry, Oliver, Emily, Theo, Miles, brother Tom (Trish) and many extended family and friends.
Wayne grew up in the North End of which he was so immensely proud. He reached his dream of becoming a professional civil engineer and started his career with Dominion Bridge which took him and his family to Amherst, Nova Scotia for five years and where his son Ryan was born.
Once they returned to Winnipeg, Wayne became a partner at Atlas Welding where his journey ended.
Wayne’s family life focused on coaching his kids in hockey and soccer. Camping was a family ritual that took the family across all of Canada and much of the United States. Wayne loved his winter trips which included Phoenix, Mexico, Hawaii, and the Caribbean. Special to Wayne were two big family trips to Hawaii and Disney World. Wayne always enjoyed his family pool where you would usually find him soaking up the sun. Wayne will be greatly missed!
A special thank you to the 5B staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Dave and his team provided exceptional care and compassion. Thank you also to the palliative doctors who greatly supported us through Wayne’s last days. An incredibly special thank you to Martin Miller, a best friend from their Lansdowne days who was there for Wayne in a way I know Wayne so appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street, Winnipeg, MB.
