After a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease, Brian John Kelsch passed away peacefully on July 19, 2024, at the age of 74. Brian was a loving father to Jillian Robertson and Jordan Kelsch; and grandfather to two precious grandchildren, Emma and Nash Robertson. He is also survived by his brother Douglas Kelsch; sister-in-law Karen Kelsch; son-in-law Sean Robertson; and daughter-in-law Brikena (Dibra) Kelsch.
Brian grew up in Winnipeg and attended the University of Manitoba, graduating with a law degree. He went on to practice law in Winnipeg for over 40 years, becoming a partner with Booth, Dennehy, Ernst and Kelsch in the 1970’s.
Brian spent a good portion of his life growing up at the family cottage at West Hawk Lake. He loved the lake and spent every weekend and all summer holidays at the cottage. Brian eventually bought a cottage of his own at Moonlight Bay on West Hawk Lake. His two children have carried on the tradition and are raising their children at the same cottage.
Brian was a devoted father and was always there to support his kids and offer reassurance when needed. His legacy lives on through the lessons and memories experienced with his kids, family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at St. John Brebeuf Church, located at 1707 John Brebeuf Pl, Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
