It is with profound sadness and cherished memories that we announce the death of Joan Marie (Listrom) Kennedy in Brandon, Manitoba on Monday, July 22, 2024.
Joan died peacefully at the Brandon General Hospital - Assiniboine Centre Palliative ward with her one true love, Alfred Kennedy by her side. She passed after a year-long battle with cancer that rapidly spread in the last seven weeks.
Joan is the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence Listrom and Carmelita (Cope) Listrom from Broadview, Saskatchewan. Joan is survived by her true love and best friend Alfred Kennedy, and their two children, spouses and grandchildren - Sean Kennedy (Christine Mattiuzzi), Liam and Ella; Maura-Jo Haytaoglu (Hakan Haytaoglu), Drew and Hana. “Love you…forever”
Joan leaves to mourn many family, friends and community members. She was highly respected and known widely for her dedication and service to fundraising. She had found peace, her spiritual path and serenity, and was living her life happy and joyously.
As per Joan’s wishes cremation has taken place. Two ceremonies will be held:

My condolences to Alf, Sean, Maura-Jo and family. Joan was a wonderful soul and brought a smile to every room she entered. As a young boy I remember many Christmas celebrations at the Cope and Listrom homes. Always filled with laughter and of course centered around good food (traditional and Swedish dishes). Joan reminded me so much of Aunt Carmie every time I saw her that it was a wonderful reminder of those celebrations years ago. - Posted by: Dean Reeve (My Mom was Joan’s cousin) on: Aug 05, 2024

Dear Alf and Family: Please accept my sincere condolences as you mourn the loss of Joan. Many years have passed since we have been together, but I often think of you two and the good times we shared. I remember having our first fondue while visiting at your home in Brandon. I can truly empathize as Ernie passed away six years ago the end of July. There really are no words to describe the loss, but know I am thinking of you. Donna. - Posted by: Donna Mansfield (Friend) on: Aug 04, 2024
