MARLENE SMITH
After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Rocky (Deborah), Billy (Kim), Rose-Marie (Rick) and her fur baby: Harley; grandchildren: Michele, Travis, Dylan and Kortney; great-grandchildren: Brielle, Grayson, Carter and Lucas; sister: Katherine Hepburn; numerous nieces, nephews and friends, and her special friend/neighbour Yvonne.
Mom is predeceased by her husband Ron, her parents, brothers-in-law Nelson Hepburn, Richard Domenco, and sister Dalphine Domenco.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society in her memory would be appreciated.

My dearest friend I truly miss you.We had some very interesting conversations. Our dogs were our priorities we loved them as children. Rest in peace. The neighborhood will not be the same without you. - Posted by: Florence Smith (Friend ) on: Aug 31, 2024

It is so sad to see someone one day and not the next! I used to see Marlene outside attending to her yard and flowers (Marlene kept everything immaculate) on my way to Walmart so I'd stop and chat with her and Harley (Marlene's Dog) for quite a while at times and thru one of our chats I didn't know that Marlene had worked at Eaton's (For MANY years). And also The Thunderbird Restaurant on McPhillips St. Marlene was a true 'Grafter' {Meaning} when something needed doing Marlene got it done – No questions asked! It is truly sad to see Marlene go and at age 86 yrs young Marlene had a long way to go yet. Rest in Peace (R.I.P) my friend I do miss you.
