MARGARET GARDINER DINGWALL

July 27, 1936 - August 27, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved friend Margaret Gardiner Dingwall on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at St. Boniface Hospital.

Born on July 27, 1936, in Edinburgh, Scotland, Margaret was predeceased by her father, George Simpson; her mother, Christina Zabawski; and her stepfather, Teofil (Tom) Zabawski.

Margaret immigrated to Canada in 1959 and dedicated her career to Great-West Life Insurance in property investments until her retirement in 1992. A proud Scot, Margaret cherished her heritage and travelled extensively, with Scotland being her most favourite destination. She was an avid shopper, a master storyteller, and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sharp wit, and especially her laughter, which was once likened to the skirl of the bagpipes.

Affectionately known as “Muggins,” Margaret will be dearly missed by the Mitchell and Swanston families, her many cherished friends and neighbours, and her colleagues at Great-West Life.

Special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital and River Ridge II Residence for their exceptional care and friendship during her final years.

In accordance with Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place. An outdoor Celebration of Life will be planned for the summer of 2025.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Margaret’s memory may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation.

To Margaret…

“May you always laugh and rest in peace in your happy place”.

Love Lori
