It is with sadness that we announce that Louis (Leo) Melnyk, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 77 years old.
Born on August 6, 1947, in Russell, Manitoba, to parents, Peter Melnyk and Helen Gensorek, Leo was a man of unwavering strength and kindness. Left behind to grieve him are his children, Karen and Bryan (Jenn); grandchildren, Nathan, Gabriella, Archer, and Aurora; two brothers and a sister as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.
No memorial service is planned but a private family burial will be held at a later date.
He will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his incredible kindness. May he rest in peace.

I met Leo in my mom’s apartment block he lived across the hall. We would have get togethers and I would bring him baking and his favorite was oatmeal cookies. He was always happy with a big smile and a great sense of humour. Leo will greatly be missed. - Posted by: Kathy (Friend ) on: Sep 19, 2024
