I wish to give my deepest condolences to all who knew and loved Glynis. Glynis was one of the coaches at seven oaks skaters my club. My daughter Chelsea skated at seven oaks skating club and had Gerri Zayac as her coach . Glynis made beautiful figure skating costumes for Chelsea . I’m told that she bought beautiful fabrics with Chelsea in mind . Glynnis was a mentor to the girls at the skating club and a friend to all. Chelsea has fond memories of Glynnis and seven oaks skating club. We are saddened to hear of her passing. . I will cherish her memory and the kindness that Glynnis showed to us once upon a time . - Posted by: Lesley larsen (Past friend ) on: Oct 13, 2024

Our condolences to Jennifer, Todd, and to your family. I first met Glynis in Eriksdale, MB in the mid 60’s when she came to skate an exhibition program at our ice show. She left an indelible impression on me, a 6 year old just learning to skate. Our family moved back to Winnipeg in 1974 and I was fortunate to again meet her when I registered in her class at the Learn to Skate program. A year or so later, she began coaching me at Seven Oaks Figure Skating Club. Her love of the sport has fostered a lifelong love of the sport in me. She was kind, encouraging and supportive, knowledgeable and disciplined, structured and hard working and very, very creative. She has influenced my figure skating journey on so many levels… first inspiring me by being the talented skater she was, then as a fantastic coach and later as a wonderful mentor to me when I became a coach. Those were special times with her and I miss them. My husband Michael also got to know Glynis over the years and has many fond memories of their chats and the laughter they shared together. - Posted by: Mary Gnutel (Friend) on: Oct 03, 2024

I fondly remember one day coming to East St Paul skating club to try out some figure skating moves on my hockey skates. I taught my self from watching tv. I was 14 or 15 and my Mom brought me and Glynis was there and said ok let’s see what you can do. And I didn’t stop from that day. She took me under her wing and we flew through competitions and tests and an incredibly fast rate. She had the faith in me and I’m forever thankful she took a chance on teaching me how to figure skate. She was very kind, caring yet very structured and wanted hard work done. My condolences to the family. - Posted by: Ryan Purpur (Student skater of hers ) on: Sep 24, 2024

Dear Jennifer and Todd My sincere sympathy at the loss of your dear Mother. Glynis was a dear friend. We spent many great times together at Spruce Sands and Winnipeg. She introduced me to card games. We enjoyed many dinners together with our friends. Birthdays and Christmas were always exciting we all always shared bags of gifts. They were the best times and we have delightful memories. She will be missed. Helga Cychmistruk - Posted by: Helga Cychmistruk (Friend) on: Sep 21, 2024

Glynis was our daughter Stephanie's first figure skating coach. She started teaching her skating at about 4 years old, they had a very strong bond. Glynis also sewed some of her figure skating dresses to perfection, making her stand out on the ice. We lost Stephanie 4 years ago and I would like to think Stephanie greeted her in Heaven. So sorry to the family and know that we are thinking of you at this time. - Posted by: Al and Corie Siddle (friends) on: Sep 21, 2024
