Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryBERT KINDZIERSKI
It is with deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our father, Bert Kindzierski, on August 12, 2024, at the age of 94.
He will be deeply missed by his children, Terry, Warren (Corinne), Dawn and Robin; his grandchildren; his two great-grandchildren; and his sister Victoria Owchar. He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 70 years, Florence (Flo) Marie Cecilia Kindzierski (née Grosjean); his daughter Sandra Joy Cobban; his grandsons, Craig Kindzierski and Brandon Kindzierski; and most of his brothers and sisters.
Bert was born in Winnipeg on July 20, 1930, and moved to Arborg, MB as a child. As a young man, he served in the R.C.M.P. until he met and married Flo in 1953. They lived together in Arborg, where Bert took over his father’s business, Arborg Transfer, which he operated for many years. Bert was always deeply involved in the community, serving as Town Councillor and later as Mayor for many years. His service and commitment to the community was memorialized with the town naming a street after him. Bert and Flo moved to Winnipeg after his retirement.
The family expresses its gratitude to Dr. Armstrong, Dr. Kamenda and Dr. Rigatto, as well as the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Seven Oaks Hospital Dialysis Unit for their many years of caring for Bert. We also thank the staff of St. Joseph’s Residence, Actionmarguerite, for their kindness and compassion in his final days.
A private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada in Bert’s name.

I first got to know Bert when I worked in the hardware store in Arborg and he owned Arbor Transfer and delivered parcels and stuff to us almost every day. He was nice to deal with very friendly and had a good attitude in life and always spoke well of everyone. - Posted by: Larry/Diane ozuk (Friend ) on: Oct 14, 2024

Terry, Warren, Dawn and Robin I’m sorry for your losses. I hadn’t realized Flo had passed. I have warm memories of all of you. The work was hard and the days long but working for Bert when we were all so much younger cemented my work ethic which served me well. Godspeed to all of you. - Posted by: Mark (Larocque) on: Sep 28, 2024

I was so fortunate to know and learn from Bert. When I became CAO of the Village of Arborg, I spent a lot of time with Bert; in the car on the way to meetings, at Arborg Transfer talking about council business and just talking. He was a mentor to me in the early days of my career. He was very kind, patient and encouraging. I moved to Arborg for the job and really appreciated what the town was, but Bert worked to make it better. I want to thank Bert for all the work he did for his community. I appreciate Bert as as leader and as a friend. My thoughts are with Bert’s family and friends. - Posted by: Maurice Bouvier (CAI when Bert was mayor) on: Sep 28, 2024
