It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Diane Turgeon.
Diane grew up in the town of Flin Flon, Manitoba with four brothers. At a young age, she made her way to Winnipeg where she eventually met Gib her husband of 65 years. She made her career working at the Winnipeg Free Press as a teletype operator and eventually retired as a journeyman. When Gib decided to retire at the age of 55 Mom said I’m not working past a year and she retired at the age of 50 the following year. So when Dad passed away last year on October 16, Mom probably said well I’m not gonna stick around past a year either and followed to be with him again. Mom and Dad were both members of the Transcona Golf Club and were part of the social committee if anyone remembers night golf, dart night, and corn fest tournaments to name a few. They made many lifelong friends here that they cherished and will be missed by.
Diane was predeceased by her parents, Len and Margaret Dowler, her brothers, Barry and Craig, daughter Cheryl Burek, and husband Gilbert. Left to mourn are daughters, Lori Turgeon and Jody Prokipchuk (John); son Craig; grandchildren, Candace, Colin, Scott, Jessi, and Dylan; and great-granddaughter Mackenzie.
