MERVIN DOUGLAS DIXON

December 2, 1934 – October 30, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our Dad, Grandpa & Great Grandpa who left us on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at 89 years of age.

Merv is survived by daughter, Patti; son, Brad & Tanis; grandchildren, Britney & Jeremy, Jensen & Bryce, Kara & Wyatt; 3 beautiful great-granddaughters, Brynlee, Addison, & Maryn, Brother Ron (Val); Sister, Doreen along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Merv is reunited with his beloved wife, Shirley and his beautiful angel, great-granddaughter, Emma.

Dad was born to a legacy of farmers, his very soul made of wind, rain, soil and sun.

Dad is now doing what he loved the most… in the combine, loving the breeze on his face, with the deer strolling by & Mom waiting with open arms.

Rest easy our dear Dad.

A private graveside service was held at Rounthwaite Cemetery on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Merv may be made to Wawanesa Health Centre – Equipment Fund, Box 309, Wawanesa MB, R0K 2G0.

  • Dearest Patti, Brad family and friends. Please accept my sincerest sympathy with the passing of your beloved Dad Mervin. I have fond memories of your Dad, especially as a very pleasant gentlemen, with a good sense of humour, who loved his family. It was my honour to get to know him, even though for short period of time. Thinking of you all during this challenging time. May you find comfort in all the treasured, rich, loving memories of your dear Dad. With love and hugs, sincerely, Trudy - Posted by: Trudy Manshanden (Friend ) on: Nov 12, 2024

  • He was a gentleman to the end. I so enjoyed caring for him and our chats day or nite. Rest in peace and touring the crops. - Posted by: Tannus (Health care aid) on: Nov 09, 2024
