MILDRED HILLIS
Mildred Hillis passed away peacefully on Monday, November 4, 2024, at the age of 81. She was the devoted and cherished wife to Terry Hillis, with whom she celebrated 62 years of marriage in October. Mildred is reunited with her two sons, Wayne and Trevor Hillis, as well as grandson, Tyler Hillis. Mildred will be missed and remembered by her husband, Terry; daughter-in-law, Shelly Hillis; grandsons, Eric (Kirby Manz) and Chrisptoher Hillis; and great- grandchildren, Shayden, Jorja and Weston. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Armilda Murray; siblings, Florence (Alex) Cowan, Audrey (John) Maddess, Norma (Gerald) Thomas, Bill (Marg) Murray, and Glen Murray; as well as brother-in-law, Kelly (Karen) Hillis. A love story for the ages, Mildred met Terry through her brother Glen when she was working at the Brandon Sun. Once married, they moved to the family homestead to farm and dedicated their lives to each other. Throughout their retirement, Mildred and Terry travelled to Arizona to escape the harsh Manitoba winters, and later to British Columbia. Mildred will be cherished in the hearts by all who knew her for her kind and generous spirit.
A Funeral service for Mildred will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Brockie Donovan Chapel, 332 8th Street, Brandon. MB. Interment will follow at Zion Cemetery.
