Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryTRUDY (GERTRUDE) PETERS
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Trudy Peters, who left us peacefully on November 1, 2024, surrounded by family.
Born in San Juan, Trinidad, Trudy grew up in a lively family of six, often sharing stories of her adventures with her siblings. She bravely moved to London in 1955, where she raised her two children, Roger and Wendy, and enjoyed a full, vibrant household with extended family.
In 1968, Trudy embarked on a new chapter in Winnipeg, joining her brother Ken and continuing her career in medical records, ultimately becoming a respected director and teacher. After retiring in 1988, she embraced a life filled with creativity and family, living in Sanford, Manitoba, and later on in Winnipeg, where she shared her love of reading and arts with her grandchildren, Marley and Conor.
The family would like to thank, the staff at Sterling House Assisted Living, Bright Water Seniors Living and a very special thank you to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital ER and Palliative Care for their compassionate care.

To my Angel Mum When wendy became my best friend in high school, I didn’t understand that I also found my guardian mum ( like a guardian Angel but still on earth who loved like a mother). Mum you, - Protected me. Sometimes from myself and sometimes from others - Educated me. There wasn’t a day that went by that I didn’t learn something new from you. You had such a high intellect and you were happy to include me in your teachings, I am so grateful for that. - Gave me your time. Mum you always took the time to talk whenever I was over, no matter how busy you were or what you were in the middle of. - Taught me life lessons, so kind and gentle, yet I knew what needed to be done after I watched you take care of business every day no matter what. - Got me out walking on weekend mornings with you and Wendy no matter how late Wendy and I had been up the night before. You taught us the value of daily physical activity. - You kept us all close - most of our high school dance parties were held in your home basement where we couldn’t get into any trouble. - Showed me the value of responsibilities ( like cleaning up after our many dance parties held at your family home). - Made me such personal gifts ( noted below) that I would never have been able to have access to if it wasn’t for your generosity. -Matching outfits for volleyball ( all hand made beautifully with love and attention) -Social outfits ( hand crafted with care, love and style to match my besties Wendy and Nicole). -Personal hand made art pieces for my birthdays and at Christmas that I treasured There are many other stories that could be told by kids who came and went through the Peters family home over the years who have all been affected by the unconditional love and kindness of Mum. There aren’t words that I could use to thank you for what you have given me but I feel in my heart that you always knew exactly how I felt about you. Love you to the moon Mum. I hope you are flying in heaven with all the other angels. Love Karen - Posted by: Karen McIvor (Friend of the family) on: Jan 04, 2025

I first met Roger and Wendy at Glenwood school, I will just say in the early 70’s when they first arrived here. I remember several trips to the Peter’s house on St Mary’s Rd where we all always felt welcome. She was a great mother and had two wonderful children. Condolences to the entire Peter’s family.
