LILLIAN LAFLECHE

(née DEVRIENDT)

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lillian Laflèche (née Devriendt), age 90, who peacefully passed away on November 11, 2024. She was not only a mother, grandmother and aunt, but a cherished friend to many.

Reunited in love and harmony, Lillian finds eternal peace with husband André Laflèche of 69 years who recently passed.

Lillian will be remembered for her selflessness and generosity, always giving and donating to those in need. Her acts of kindness touched countless lives both near and far. Neighbours and friends knew her as a bright light - a friend to all and someone whose presence always brought joy.

Lillian was a kind, loving mother to her only son Jean-Paul. Her son carries forward her values of kindness and generosity every day.

She leaves behind her daughter-in-law Manon Tremblay; and granddaughters, Annabelle and Chloe, who were to this day her greatest joy in life. She loved nothing more than introducing her granddaughters to others, beaming with pride as she spoke about the young women they had become.

Our family extends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Actionmarguerite St. Vital who cared for Lillian until her final moments. Their kindness, patience, and compassion allowed her to be safe and comfortable at all times.

As per Lillian’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will take place in the spring for Lillian and Andre.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lillian’s memory to Actionmarguerite St. Vital.

  • Our prayers go out Jean-Paul, Manon, Annabelle and Chloe during this difficult time. I grew up with JP during high school and remember Lillian as always being inviting, giving and full of energy. I will always remember her great big smiles and laugh. She will be deeply missed by all. RIP. - Posted by: David and Kellie Huyghe (Family friend) on: Nov 23, 2024

  • I knew her from the Girl Guide Association for many years and then I worked for her in the St. Boniface School Division also. I always found her to be very generous with her time, as well as very encouraging to the students at P.R.C. in making them work harder and do better always. She was always kind with her fellow workers and a great person to be with. I will miss her greatly. RIP Lillian. - Posted by: Joanne Roussin (Good friend and coworker) on: Nov 23, 2024
