Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIMMY) CHARLES WORONA
It is with heavy hearts and blessings, that we announce Jimmy’s passing on November 21, 2024.
Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Mary, brother Norman and sister-in-law Pearl. Left to mourn are his brothers, Lawrence, Harold, and Richard (Mary Lu); sisters, Doris and Valerie (Mike); along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and special friend Leslie and family, Eric, Sonette, and Gavin and Jim’s dog Rex.
As a youngster, Jimmy was always curious about mechanical operations, like taking apart pocket watches, alarm clocks, and even toasters. Jim's brother Harold rescued him from the Brokenhead River, which explained his apprehension about boating and fishing.
Jimmy bought and restored his white 1973 Nova SS to drive to Lord Selkirk High School and then to Red River College Mechanic Program.
Jimmy drove for almost ten years up the 317 Highway made up of peat moss and mud to Lac Du Bonnet to work at Worona Brothers Ford Dealership. Jimmy appreciated his cousin Cazmir, who taught him all the tricks and extras involved in repairing vehicles.
Jimmy then opened his own business at home, Jim Worona Service Centre, where he repaired lawnmowers, tillers, etc. He bought and repaired old farm tractors, golf carts, and snowmobiles. Jimmy loved the auctions.
Jimmy was always ready to give someone a helping hand. He loved all animals, in particular, his cattle, cats, and dogs and they all loved him too. This past summer, Jimmy finally took his lifelong road trip through the mountains in his cherished Bronco “Phantom 317”.
Jimmy thanks all his caregivers. Jimmy especially wishes to thank all the family and friends who cared and supported him since February 6, 2024, when he was advised he had aggressive terminal cancer which was extremely painful for him until the very end.
In the words of Jimmy “Thanks Much”

Thank you for being the good man you were, kind, caring, helping, thoughtful, polite. You wore your heart on your sleeve. You helped me get my old buick back on the road, helping with splitting our tractor, cropping, so many things you did for us, asking little in return. I enjoyed making you laugh uncomfortably over the years. I’m sorry you went out like that, holding onto life until the end. I can’t beleive you are gone, but in a better place now. Thank you for being my friend Jim. We will miss you much Eric - Posted by: Eric (Friend) on: Dec 06, 2024
