DOROTHY (DOTS) EVELYN POSTOLUK

August 7, 1947 - November 20, 2024

Dorothy Evelyn Postoluk, affectionately known as "Dots", passed away on November 20, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on August 7, 1947, in Grenfell, Saskatchewan, Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and community spirit.

Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband George; her daughter Tracy (Jason); and her son Troy; as well as siblings, Gladys (Joe) Gandzalas, Tom (Cathy) Prima, Robert Prima, and Raymond (Kathleen) Prima.

Dorothy met George, the love of her life, while working at Central Mortgage and Housing in Regina. The two shared a beautiful marriage that began on a cold and rainy day in October 1967.

Dorothy dedicated countless hours over decades to volunteering at Harold Hatcher Elementary and the Transcona Food Bank. Dorothy’s talents and passions were many - she was an avid reader, a skilled gardener, and a brilliant cook. She also supported George's trucking career by meticulously overseeing the company books and ensuring he always had hearty meals for his long trips. She joined George many times on the road and enjoyed seeing the Canadian countryside with Chico, the family's beloved dog, sitting on her lap.

Dorothy’s warmth, kindness, and endless generosity touched the lives of everyone around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A service to honour Dorothy’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 14, 2024, at the Transcona Memorial United Church located at 209 Yale Ave. West.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Transcona Food Bank.
