HELEN LAURIN

June 30, 1939 - December 1, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of loving wife and mother, Helen Laurin (Zaluski), who left us peacefully on December 1, 2024, at the age of 85, with her family by her side.

She is survived by her husband Roger Laurin, daughters, Lori Buxman, Wendy (Kevin) Williams, Lisa (Darryl) Gorman, stepson Richard (Heidi) Laurin; grandchildren, Amanda, Bryan, Karlee, James, Branden, Bruce, Brady, Jessy and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Connor, Chloe, Colston, Daylen, Carsyn and Everly, as well as her sister Linda Zaluski (Barry Dunn), brother-in-law Peter Goodz, along with many other family and friends.

She was predeceased by her first husband James Buxman, parents, Nicholas and Olga Zaluski and sister Mary Goodz.

Helen was born on June 30, 1939, in Winnipeg, where she married and raised her three daughters. She enjoyed her summers at Grand Beach and worked hard all her life. She retired at 55 and a few years later married her current husband, Roger Laurin. She and Roger enjoyed travelling Canada and the US, spending time in Piney, Manitoba, Friday night cocktails with friends at Dawson Trails apartment where they resided.

She will be missed by all.

Rest in Peace Mom.

One night I dreamed a dream.

As I was walking along the beach

with my Lord.

Across the dark sky flashed scenes

from my life.

For each scene, I noticed two sets

of footprints in the sand,

One belonging to me and one to my Lord.

After the last scene of my life flashed

before me,

I looked back at the footprints in the sand.

I noticed that at many times along

the path of my life,

especially at the very lowest and

saddest times,

there was only one set of footprints.

This really troubled me,

so I asked the Lord about it.

"Lord, you said once I decided to

follow you,

You'd walk with me all the way.

But I noticed that during the saddest and

most troublesome times of my life,

there was only one set of footprints.

I don't understand why, when I needed

You the most, You would leave me."

He whispered, "My precious child, I love

you and will never leave you

Never, ever, during your trials

and testing’s.

When you saw only one set of footprints,

It was then that I carried you."

- Love Roger
