With great sadness we announce the passing of Eva Campbell. Eva passed away at the age of 89 at the Wawanesa Personal Care Home. She left this world peacefully with her granddaughter Karissa by her side listening to Unchained Melody, her and Jim’s song.
Eva lived a very full, beautiful life. She took every day as a challenge to make the most of it. Eva was born and raised north of Forrest. She met her soul mate Jim and had a beautiful life together that gave them two sons. Eva worked at Brown's Drug mart for many years. After that, she partnered in Elkhorn Resort, C&C Rentals, and Trails West Hotel. Besides her business savvy, she gave her time to the community as a volunteer. As a cancer survivor, she gave back and volunteered for the Canadian Cancer Society. She was also on the Brandon School Board and put a lot of devotion into being the Chairperson for the Brandon Centennial.
Anyone who knew Eva had a seat at her table. Her passion was cooking, and she loved to share her culinary delights with family and friends. She and Jim spent their winters away, enjoying forty years in Texas. While Jimmy was busy carving, Eva became a true artist with paints. They owned a property at Sandy Lake which was her favorite place. Again, feeding the masses and too many happy hours to mention. Eva was a force to be reckoned with. A no meant yes, and if you were too busy to go to her, she would come to you. Truly one to embrace the more the merrier, no one was ever left out. She was the matriarch, the glue, and we will feel a huge void without her here.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jim; grandson, Kristopher and daughter-in-law, Lee Anne.
Left to mourn and honor her are her two sons, Kerry (Carrie) and Bill (Birgit); grandchildren, Kerry (Teresa), Karissa (Brendon), Leah (Darcy), Karlie(Thomas), and P.J; great-grandchildren, William, Jaxon, Oliver, Nate, Marley, Myles, Penny and Lucy.
Thank you to the Wawanesa Person Care Home staff for the loving care she received. She will be lovingly remembered through her artwork donated there. We will miss you and the love you generously gave us. You were one of a kind!!
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Westman Dreams For Kids, 404 18th Street North, Brandon, MB R7A 7P3.
