  • I was saddened to hear just today of Maria’s passing. I knew her as a coworker and friend from Zellers Westwood. In our small office of (5), it was hard not to share our family stories and experiences and thus, I got to know her quite well. I remember us having to teach her how to say no, because she would give you the shirt off her back - both personally and professionally. She was the best! My sincerest sympathies to Joe and her boys and their families. - Posted by: Judy Jemson Jones (Friend) on: Jan 08, 2025

  • I knew Maria from our time at Zellers, at the Kildonan Park store. She was a caring, compassionate person, and a great supervisor to have. We shared a rather small office for a few years, until her illness became difficult for her to manage, and she took sick leave. As you can imagine when sharing a space together, we found plenty to talk about other than work. We shared many laughs together. I am saddened that she is no longer going to here with you, but know that she loved you all, and was very proud of her boys. May you find some solace that she is no longer in pain, and in time you will smile and think of the many great times you had together. God be with your family. - Posted by: Mary-Ann Wiebe (Friend, former coworker) on: Dec 21, 2024
