Peacefully on December 19, 2024, mom passed away with her children by her side.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Darlene (Wally), Valerie, Howard (Joe Anne); granddaughters, Landin (Mike), Janaiya (Mario), Sarah (Evan); and great-grandchildren Madison, Jadon, Oakleigh and Brooks; as well as her stepbrothers, Henry, Art, and Wally (Erica); and sisters-in-law, Irma, Freida and Rita; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by George, the love of her life and husband of 62 years, in 2015.
Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2024 at North Kildonan Mennonite Church, 1131 Roch Street, Winnipeg.

Helene was a church friend of my mother. When I was a young mother, Helene grabbed my hand one day on the bus and told me to stand tall and proud, be a loving mother and do the best that you, do not worry about all the petty gossip. Lived by that. Even though over the last 54 years since then, have not seen her much, every time we met she would grab my hand and with her beautiful smile would caringly ask how’s life going.
