  • My condolences to the family. I remember Rob well from grades K-5 in the English-Ukrainian Bilingual Program at Springfield Heights School. We bonded by both being bad at Phys. Ed., but we also enjoyed the lunch hour hockey sticker and hockey card clubs in the gym - I still have most of the cards. Years later, I bought a freezer from him at Sears - it still works well! I trust he is at peace now. Vichnaya pamyat. - Posted by: Glenn Mabbutt (elementary school friend) on: Jan 05, 2025

  • I met Rob in the 90’s as his then waitress at Silverado’s. He would just show up with a smile on his face and he was just a happy guy and I very quickly named him Happy and still refer to him as Happy. Decades went by and it was so nice to see all of Happy’s adventures and the passions he shared about on Facebook like his dogs and the Bombers. It was nice to share our Ukrainian heritage and wish each other holiday wishes in Ukrainian. He packed a lot into his life with so many sports, hobbies, talents and friends groups. I’m so sorry our paths didn’t cross just a week before at the West St Paul Christmas Market, it would have been so nice to have seen Happy and tune up my Ukrainian to wish him a Merry Christmas. Sincerest condolences to his family and all of his tight knit friends groups. He will be missed. Trish Chyborak - Posted by: Trish Chyborak (Waitress ) on: Jan 01, 2025

  • Condolences to all of Rob’s family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Rob, I’ll miss all the times collating flyers together. I just wanted people to know that we (coworkers) didn’t take his presence for granted and we were all very lucky to have him in our lives. RIP you beauty - Posted by: Cory Campbell (Co-worker) on: Dec 31, 2024

  • I got to know Rob through playing dodgeball. We always really loved having him on the team! He always made the games fun. A couple of weeks ago he had stopped by one of our games to watch us and it was really great to catch up with him. I’m devastated to hear the news of his passing. He will be missed! My thoughts and prayers are with his family! - Posted by: Kara Klassen (Friend ) on: Dec 31, 2024

  • It is truly hard to believe you are gone Rob. What a legend you were and will continue to be. Rob was filled with so much passion, enthusiasm, and kindness despite all the struggles he had to endure throughout his lifetime. He was the type of guy that showed up to the party with large speakers and a bottle of fireball haha. To have gone through as many struggles as he did and still be a positive person will always such an inspiration to us. We will forever cherish all those pool days, bonfires, parties we attended at each others homes, and the long chats on our driveway with you. It won't be the same without you living beside us. You will be so deeply missed Rob. Our deepest condolences to your family. - Posted by: Jaiann and Ryan Siepman (Friends / Neighbors ) on: Dec 31, 2024

  • We got the pleasure of knowing Rob through his neighbors, Jaiann and Ryan. I will be forever grateful of of many talks about Winnipeg's local sports teams, especially his beloved Blue Bombers - we shared that same passion. Rob always made people feel comfortable and always had a huge smile on his face even through all the tough health challenges he was faced with. Positive and genuine are two words I would use to describe Rob. He will forever be remembered. Gone far too soon - our condolences to his family at this difficult time. - Posted by: Katelyn and Shawn Siepman (Friends) on: Dec 31, 2024

  • So many people will miss Rob, he was always a fun, friendly and kind person. We were friends as well as dodgeball teammates, and everyone misses him dearly. He was always funny and could entertain us with stories, singing, and of course performing rap songs. Life of the party. So grateful to have had a really nice long visit recently, but so devastated it was the last. Condolences to the family in this terribly sad time. - Posted by: Gail Hoddinott Gregoire (Friend) on: Dec 29, 2024

  • Sorry for your loss. I worked with Rob at Sears Auto Center many years ago, and got to hang out with him a few times outside of work. I didn't know him very well, but he was always a super friendly, funny guy. Rest in peace Rob. - Posted by: Jesse Grywacheski (Former co-worker/acquaintance) on: Dec 28, 2024
