JAMES (JIM) GEORGE MACHNICKI

1945 - 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, James Machnicki on December 13, 2024.

Jim lived a life filled with love, laughter and dedication to his family. As a devoted husband, he spent 55 years by the side of his loving wife, Marlene. Together, they created a beautiful life and raised a family that he was immensely proud of.

Jim is survived by his wife, Marlene; sons, Michael (Anne) and Jeffery (Kara); grandchildren, Rachel, Carmen, Kali and Ava; sister, Anne Liska; brother-in-law, David Dickinson (Liz) and many extended family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Actionmarguerite Saint-Boniface for all their support and care.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at The Bridge Church, 620 Oxbow Bend Road, Winnipeg. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba or a charity of choice in Jim’s memory.

Rest now in peace, Jim.

  • Marlene and family. I was very sorry to hear of Jim's passing, although I know he had been ill for some time. I have many great memories of times spent with Jim during nursing training, cutting down Christmas trees, and at our cottages at Winnipeg Beach over the years. My heartfelt sympathy to you all. - Posted by: Lynda Taylor (Friend) on: Jan 04, 2025
