RUDY FERNANDEZ
With deep sorrow and sadness, I have to announce the passing of my beloved husband on December 31, 2024 with his wife Ellen and friends Bill and Ruth at his bedside.
He was born September 14, 1939 in Manila, Philippines. He was predeceased by his parents and leaves to mourn his wife of 55 years, sister and other relatives in the Philippines, Canada and USA.
He graduated from M.I.T. in the Philippines in mining engineer degree. Worked in Lynn Lake, MB and northern Ontario.
He loved bowling, reading, gardening and taking bus trip tours and casinos in the USA and Canada.
Special thanks to many friends, I appreciate the love and help from Ruth and Bill, Joe and Dawn, JoAnn, Sophie and Andy, Chris and Lillian, Joann and Carmelo and all the friends from the bus and bowling buddies.
I would like to thank the staff at SOGH Urgent Care and 3 Unit 4 for the care they gave Rudy.
A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 355 Andrews Street with Fr. Bo officiating.

I love you and will miss you forever.

I started bowling years ago and met Elena and Rudy, we bowled for years together at St. Josephs and Bowl Below. One of the nicest couples I’ve ever met, we were instant friends. One day, while bowling me and a friend decided that we wanted to be adopted by them. So I started calling them Auntie and Uncle. We had so much fun and they always brought special pancit made with love and gave to everyone for the holidays along with chocolates, gifts, and cards. Rudy was so nice to me, he always made me feel special and encouraged me in bowling. He always asked how I was doing and wanted to chit-chat whenever I saw him. Rudy's encouragement and genuine interest in my life meant a lot to me. While it’s heartbreaking to lose someone so special, cherishing the memories will help keep his spirit alive in my heart. I’m sure he is watching over me, proud of the person I’ve become. I’m gonna hold on to those precious memories of Rudy. - Posted by: Kim (Friend (Adopted Niece)) on: Jan 06, 2025
