Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJUDITH LILLIAN KEHLER
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Judy Kehler. Judy left this world, with her family by her side, on January 1, 2025.
She was predeceased by her husband Wayne Phelps, parents, Bill and Annie Wells, and her brother Milt Watson. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Nina Smilinski, Judy Cheetham (Keith), Sarah Pichor (James), and Ron Kehler (Charlene); grandchildren, Michael (Chantel), Kevin (Taigan), Tara (Amir), Jason (Brenna), Emmy, Ronnie, and Justin; and great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Nolan, and Emily.
For 38 years Judy worked at Kidi-Garden Day Nurseries where she made lifelong friends. Judy loved bowling and bowled every Thursday for 30 years. For a time, she also coached YBC bowling. Judy enjoyed all the activities at Carriage House including their weekly dinners, bingo, karaoke, and holiday parties.
She loved to travel and enjoyed her trips to Edmonton to see Sarah. We would like to express our gratitude to Sarah for taking great care of Mom while she was in hospital. Lastly a big thank you to the nurses and doctors at Seven Oaks Hospital first in Urgent Care then on the 3rd floor unit 7 who took great care of our Mother during the last two weeks of her life.
Cremation has taken place. At our Mother's request, we will have a private family service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I knew Judy and Wayne from a long time ago when we bowled together for many, many years at Roxy Bowling Lanes. I also remember Sarah and Ron, who also bowled with us! Great times were had by all! Also met a few other family members thru the years. Judy was always so much fun and always willing to offer a helping hand! My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. - Posted by: Lois Kruse (Friend) on: Jan 17, 2025

I worked with Judy at Kidi Garden for 30 years ! Lots of laughs and fun in the kitchen . The kids all loved Judy’s famous spaghetti ! Our group at the center ( 1986 - 2006 ) shared happy and sad times . We celebrated birthdays , retirements , births , Christmas parties . There were deaths and difficult times too but we were a close group ! Judy was always there for all of us . While working Judy raised her four children and her reward was how much her children , grandchildren and great grandchildren loved her ! Love you too Judy . Rest in peace . I first met Judy when I started at kidi Garden in 1988. Judy was such an amazing person /friend. She was so strong we could always ask her for advice and support. I am better person for knowing her all these years. A good friend till the end. Be free and dance the night away with Wayne. Know that you will be missed but we will continue to laugh as we remember all our great times. - Posted by: Cheryl Mendella (Friend) on: Jan 12, 2025

My deepest condolences to Judy’s family and friends. I worked with Judy way back for a short time between Aug ‘91-Sept ‘93. I will always remember her smile and her laugh as there wasn’t a day I didn’t see her smiling or laughing! She especially loved speaking about her family. It was always so much fun being with her. Being around Judy, felt like a warm hug. She was such a genuine warm loving person. M - Posted by: Kerry Borsa (Ex coworker) on: Jan 11, 2025

Judy was a wonderful lady. Soft spoken but still could get her point across. I met her at Carriage House where she resided. We would always meet in the laundry room or dining hall. She was a volunteer for many years in our kitchen. We also had a few drinks in our gazebo. I remember one time we talked about toilet paper. I don't remember why but what a funny subject. We weren't even drinking. Lol. She always looked forward to going to Edmonton. I will miss her but know she's at peace. Hugs to the family members. Cherish the memories of Judy close to your heart.
