PETER KOOP

July 11, 1936 - January 5, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loved one Peter Koop. After a short battle with cancer surrounded by his loved ones at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, the Lord called him home on January 5, 2025.

Peter was the eldest of eleven children. He was born to Peter and Elizabeth (Martens) Koop on July 11, 1936.

Peter leaves to mourn his beloved wife of 39 years Marilyn, his son Gordon (Nancy), his daughter Jackie, his stepdaughter Patti (Harold) and his stepson Randy (Sheila). He also leaves missing him dearly, 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, Isaiah.

Peter was predeceased by his son Grant, his daughter Krista, his stepson David, and his sister Erika.

Peter had many passions in life but what mattered most to him was his love for the Lord, his love for his wife and family, and his love of golf and gardening.

There is a Celebration of Life being held at the McIvor Avenue Mennonite Brethren Church, 200 McIvor Avenue, Winnipeg, on Friday January 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • My sincere condolences to Peter’s family. I am going to miss him tremendously around the club. He was still trying to always help out working and was told many times to take it easy, I'm going to miss most our talks about life and his faith and he'd always have interesting stories about his experiences and jobs he had. I would come away from our talks feeling better. He had that way. I miss you Peter! May you rest in peace. - Posted by: Sheri (Employee at club) on: Jan 11, 2025

  • I will for ever remember Peter’s friendly and honest hello each day we met. Most notably his “fantastic “ whenever I helped out with a project or tool he may need to use. I’m better off for knowing him! Doug - Posted by: Doug McEwen (Co-worker Rossmere) on: Jan 11, 2025
