It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rose Erin, December 31, 2024, at the age of 89.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Morris, her mother and father (Annie and Mike Popadynec) and all her siblings, (Andy, Mike, Katie, Charlotte, Minnie, Alec, Barney, Sophie, Joe, Mary, Ollie, and Jean). Rose is survived by her son, Morris (Karen), and her grandchildren, Daniel (Aleena) and Meghan (Mark).
Rose was born on the family farm near Wynyard, Saskatchewan and was one of 12 children born to Mike and Annie (Kohuch). As a young woman, Rose moved to Winnipeg, where she met and married Morris Erin. Rose and Morris were blessed with one son, Morris Frederick (Morrie).
Friendly, gregarious, and an avid conversationalist, Rose regaled in her daily chat sessions with family members and friends around the Grant Park area. Failing health in her later years curtailed her social activities, however, she still enjoyed the sanctity of her home. Rose was deeply religious and in the later years took great comfort in studying religious texts. Rose will be missed.
In respect of her wishes, cremation has taken place. A small observance in her memory will be held for family and friends in the spring.

Rose was a wonderful woman, as a child I would cut through her yard on my way to school and she would always stop me and make sure I had my hat and mittens on and my jacket zipped. She would always ask if I had eaten breakfast and if I said no she would give me something to eat. Later when I moved back to the neighborhood she remembered me and would occasionally come by and see how things were going with me and the kids. In the summer she would be out front sunbathing and if I walked by she would stop me and chat with me for a while. I will always have fond memories of her! - Posted by: Maureen Pluta (Neighbour) on: Apr 24, 2025
