EDNA JEAN MACMILLAN

It is with sadness that we announce that our mother, Edna Jean MacMillan has peacefully passed away at the great age of 99.

Edna was born in Toronto on March 18, 1925. She was one of the three daughters to Tom and Jean Hann. Edna grew up during the depression, and when the Second World War broke out she would volunteer with the Red Cross looking after returning wounded veterans.

Later she met and married Bill MacMillan, and together they raised five children, Steve, John, Bruce, Janice and Tom. Edna is survived by six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

After moving to Winnipeg and settling in River Heights, they then moved to an acreage in Sanford, Manitoba. There Edna, who was very good at making crafts opened a store called "Granny made it". Edna was also very active with the Sanford United Church, as well as a member of the quilting club, and the Sanford Legion. She always spoke very fondly of the friends she had in Sanford who became a big part of her life.

We wish to gratefully thank Darcy, and all the nurses and aides on the fifth floor of the Golden West Centennial Lodge for the outstanding care that Edna received.

Cremation has already taken place, and a private graveside ceremony will take place in the spring.
