With sorrowful hearts we announce the passing of Keith Edward Hartig on January 24, 2025, at 5:35 p.m. at Deer Lodge Centre Special Care Unit after four years of dementia, the battle is over at the age of 80.
Keith is survived by his loving wife Margaret of 58 years; children, Kenneth (Donna) Hartig, Keri-Lisa (Ken) Henry and Kurtis (Lauren) Hartig; grandchildren, Felisha, Victoria (Brock), Hayden, and Oliver; sister Phyllis Van Haute (Roger); brothers-in-law, Jacob (Marilyn) Nickel and Peter (Elfreda) Nickel in Calgary; nieces, Miriam and Rachel Nickel; and nieces and nephews in Alberta and BC.
He was predeceased by his parents, Adolf and Dorothy Hartig; stepfather Wilmer Alton; daughter Kimberly Hartig in 2018, and grandson Rolston Hartig in 2019.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, R3C 4G2.
