On January 25, 2025, Darlene Mary Ann Vanderlip (née Holian) passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital with her children at her side.
Darlene is predeceased by loving husband George. She is survived by her children, Lori, Kris, and Michelle; and her grandchildren Bailey (Alex), Nathen, and Luke; as well as many family members and friends.
Cremation has taken place and a private service at Ethical Death Care. Special thanks to all staff of Maples care home for their excellent care and compassion.

Our condolences to the entire family. I have known the family for over 50 years. Growing up in the same neighborhood our families had a close connection and we have many happy memories of our times spent together at Legion picnics, weddings, socials and many parties. When I was a teenager I babysat Darlene and George's girls. When the girls became teenagers themselves they babysat my children. I will always remember Darlene as someone who always greeted you with a smile and was genuinely happy to see you. She always made you feel welcomed. My condolences to Darlene's children! I have known your Mom since our teenage years! We worked at 2different companies together! I got together with her & George from time to time! But when she retired , we kind of lost touch! I often thought of her & her awesome parents, Mary & Walter Holian, from the good old days in the North End! I am saddened of the passing of Darlene and extend my sincere condolences to her family. I think back on the many times we got together when we were children. Visiting her at the family home on Dugald Road was always so much fun. Getting to see her was always so exciting. Her parents, uncle Walter and auntie Mary, always welcomed me with open arms.
