Bill passed away with his family by his side on February 3, 2025, at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 76 years.
He was predeceased be his father Elmer and mother Mary, brothers-in-law James Babson and Bill Wizniak Sr.
William is survived by his loving wife Louise, daughters Erin and Colleen (Robert) and his beloved grandson Joey Weighell. His sister Bonnie Babson of Vancouver and his nieces Cara Babson, Marni Grabowski and nephew Bill Wizniak Jr., and sister-in-law Diane Wizniak, as well as their extended families. He grew up with his cousins, aunt and uncle in the McLaren family. His best friends Debbie and Doug Kozusko of Regina and their families.
Bill was born in Winnipeg and lived in East Elmwood. As a young boy he enjoyed playing hockey and baseball out of East Elmwood community club. Eventually Bill took up curling and enjoyed the sport for years, making many friends and acquaintances along the way. He particularly enjoyed the bus trips with CPR workmates in the various regional bonspiels. In the summer, the golf course was his favourite place to be.
He will be missed by his grand dogs, Luke, Apollo and Athena. He was the papa with the treats in his pocket.
We would like to thank the dedicated paramedics, nurses and doctors that cared for Bill while he was ill.
There will be no formal service.

My daughter Kristi ran into mutual friends and we just heard of Bill’s passing today. Condolences from the Balon family. Bill was a great friend. I have so many great memories of our curling trips. Had some pretty good times with Bill, Remember Elmer giving us both shit for not changing a tire correctly, A few curling bonspiels, a trip to Florida that didn’t end too well. Always positive.
