Gail Elizabeth Thompson, 84 years of age, of Winnipeg, passed away on February 10, 2025 at Seven Oaks Hospital.
She was born on January 24, 1941 in Winnipeg to Morfydd (Mulvey) and Jack Cunningham.
Gail was known for many wonderful things but was probably most famous for her love of all people. She always had a kind word for anyone she crossed paths with and was always willing to help, a quality she instilled in all of us around her. She deeply valued her family, and will be remembered for her love, sense of humour and her "willful" nature that would put any bull to shame. Her co-workers at the Winnipeg Free Press where she worked for over 30 years, will likely remember.
She is survived by her two sons, Sean and Ryan and her beloved granddaughters, Hunter and Maya, daughters-in-law, Akiko and Heather, sister Judy, nephew Tim, and two nieces, Riley and Cheryl, and many beloved friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Barrie and her sisters, Maureen, Lynne, Barbara and her brother John.
A memorial service will be held on February 14, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
