It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Giacinto Torquato, on February 24, 2025, at the age of 86 years.
He was predeceased by his wife, Teresa (Sposato) Torquato on July 7, 2014, and by his brothers, Angelo, Alberto, and Giovanni (in Italy) and Francesco (in Winnipeg).
Left to mourn his passing are his daughter Saveria, and son Giovanni; his brothers, Antonio (Giannina), Mario (Vicenza) and sisters, Giovanna (Angelo) and Maria (Giacomo), and many nieces and nephews in Winnipeg and San Mango D'Aquino, Italy. He will also be greatly missed by numerous relatives and friends in Winnipeg and Italy.
Since coming to Canada in 1961, he had always been a hard worker and cared deeply for his family. His friends will remember him as a jovial, caring person who always had empathy and concern for others.
The family thanks the doctors, nurses and aides on 4 South at the Grace General Hospital for the compassionate care he received.
Condolences will be offered to the family on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave., followed by the celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Father Michael Raj Savarimuthu, the celebrant. Entombment to follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St.
