CLAUDE LUCIEN SIMARD

October 21, 1967 - March 9, 2025


Claude Lucien Simard, age 57, born on October 21, 1967, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at the Bethesda Regional Health Centre, Steinbach, MB.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Simard (née Mireault) and their two daughters, Catherine and Josée Simard. He also leaves behind one sister, Louise Simard, and his stepfather, David St. Denis. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Hubert Mireault, Jean-Louis and Diane Mireault, Greg and Françoise Balan, Sheldon and Hélène Krentz, Stephen and Jeanne Shore, Randy and Monique Sorokowski, Yvon Mireault, Louis Dumas and Pauline Mireault. He will also be missed by many other family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his father Lucien Simard (2002), by his mother Diane St. Denis (2023), by his mother-in-law, Denise Mireault (2016) and by his brother-in-law, Arthur Mireault (2016).

He has been married to Rita since September 7, 1996. They have been married 28 years and had a wonderful life together for 35 years. Their two daughters, Catherine, was born on August 14, 2001. Their youngest daughter, Josée, was born on August 19, 2005. He loved his family, and treasured every moment of laughter with them. He was passionate about his love for cars and motorcycles, which he made as a successful career in auto restoration. He has had his own car restoration company «Olde Iron Auto», from 1996 tp 2025. He loved to collect antique car models, signs, among many other vintage items. He was very creative, handy and had many skills. He was a very humourous and dedicated person. He always had a huge presence everywhere he went and he will be sorely missed by many.

The funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with prayers beginning at 10:30 a.m., at St. Joachim Catholic Parish, La Broquerie, MB.

The interment will take place at Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Cemetery, Ste. Anne, MB.

If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations, in memory of Claude Simard, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses and the paramedics for their help and care. We would also like to thank all of the support from family and friends.

  • He loved to laugh and tell jokes and do impressions. Many hours spent at one of his shops over the years talking laughing and working on classics.
