CAROLE VIVIER
Carole Vivier, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2025, after a courageous and prolonged battle with lung cancer.
Carole was married to Rick Vivier for 54 wonderful years. Together, they built a life full of love, joy and shared memories. Carole is survived by her loving husband Rick, as well as her two daughters, Danielle Loundsbury (married to Colin Loundsbury) and Brandice Vivier (married to Rob Burns), and a son Michael Jurkow.
Carole’s legacy continues through her four granddaughters, Ali Puumala, Gabby Vivier-Hannay, and Aubrey Burns and Ella Burns, and four great-grandchildren: William, Jack, Carson, and Emily Puumala, who brought immense joy to her life. Carole also leaves behind four sisters, who shared in her love and support throughout the years.
Carole was a woman of incredible strength, grace, and integrity, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and everyone whose life she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Riverview and CancerCare Manitoba. The support we received from CancerCare Manitoba, and Dr. Banerji in particular, was outstanding, and the compassion and kindness which the staff at Riverview demonstrated everyday was a gift.
A celebration of Carole’s life will be announced later this spring.

I met Carole through her journey with lung cancer, but she made an impact on me by her vigor and strength of courage. She advocated for herself and her own treatments in a way that will help others in the future, and she also advocated for others to learn more about radon and lung cancer prevention. She inspired me and I was thankful for the chance to walk on her path for a short time. I'm so sorry to hear about her passing. Such a dynamic life cut short too soon. - Posted by: Pam Warkentin (Friend) on: Jun 20, 2025

I came to know Carole more closely when I was on the board of the Manitoba Film and Music and she was the CEO. She was not just a strong, passionate leader, but someone whose presence deeply enriched the lives of so many who met her. Her profound love for the community she served was evident; thank you Carole for leaving such a wonderful legacy! - Posted by: Mariette Mulaire (Friend) on: Mar 17, 2025

Dear Rick and family. We haven't talked in a long time, Rick, but I often thought of you, Carole and the kids. I am so sorry to hear about Carole. She will be remembered and loved always. The world is filled with so many beautiful treasures, and she was one of the most beautiful of them all. Sending you comfort and wishing you peace.
