With deep sadness we are announcing that George passed away suddenly on March 15, 2025, at his residence in Brandon Manitoba. George lived in very good health until his sudden passing at the age of 90. George is survived by his son Patrick and his brother Tony.
George was an avid bush pilot with many stories shared of his Northern adventures. He attained his black belt in karate at the age of 76 to which he was very proud. His musical talents continued throughout his life with the release of an album in 1984 entitled “Hey Pierre” which was placed in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Calgary, and more recently the release of a track on YouTube entitled “Hey Justin”. He was known for his humor in his lyrics.
Anyone who knew George knew his free spirit, and that he lived a full life of adventure, doing things on his own terms, and of his love for the great outdoors. We are all thankful that George was able to remain healthy and able to carryout all his hobbies, music, and tinkering right up to the sudden end that caught us all off guard.
May he rest in peace with his beloved companion Violet.
As per George’s final wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private internment will be carried out as he specified.
We will announce an informal memorial of George’s life at a later date.

None of our business ever took off but it was fun building them. Good man, excellent pilot and loved the stage. - Posted by: Tony (Friend to the end) on: Sep 05, 2025
