HELEN (MARIE) FRYERS

October 1, 1936 - March 21, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, sister, aunt and great-grandmother Marie Fryers on the morning of Friday, March 21, 2025, in the presence of her son Gary (fiancé Holly) and granddaughter Briana.

Marie was born in Winnipeg, MB., on October 1, 1936, at Saint Boniface Hospital to Helen and Louis Leger.

Marie is predeceased by her husbands Richard Snell and Cliff Fryers as well as her three siblings, Simone, Paul and Peter.

Marie will be truly missed by her son Gary and (fiancé Holly), daughters-in-law Nancy and Pat, sister-in-law Leah Leger, nieces Marie McGinley, Jocelyn Mathyk, nephews Christian Leger, and Bill, John and Damien McGinley. The number one joy in her life was her grandchildren Briana (Evan) Letkeman, Katrina Snell (Nicholas Fontaine) and great-granddaughter Nora Mae.

Marie loved spending her summer months in Ontario with her family and friends at their Hockey Haven cottage. You could often find her sitting by the lake, enjoying the sun and enjoying the company of friends and family. In the winter months, Marie and her family would take frequent trips to Hawaii to visit her mom and dad, Helen and Louis and then make it over to California to see her sister Simone, brother-in-law Bill and her nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the compassionate caregivers at Rest Haven Care Home for all of their hard work and support towards the family.

Marie’s favourite charity was the Winnipeg Humane Society.

There will be a private family burial during the early summer months.
