ALISON ELIZABETH ROSE SELLEN
After a long battle with MSA, Alison passed away on March 26, 2025.
Alison was the middle child, and only daughter of Dan and Mary (Marie) Wilde. Ali grew up in Oak Bank and attended its schools and sports. Alison and Ron were married in 1977.
After graduating from R.R.C.C., Al worked as a Computer Operator or Mag Tape Librarian, or respectively, a ST-SCY, Recruiting Clerk, or CR at: Great West Life and Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg (1970s); at Loeb, and Revenue Canada in Ottawa (1980s); and DND, and the RCMP in Winnipeg (1990 and 2000s). She retired in 2011.
Ali loved hobbies and kept her volleyball and gardens as long as possible.
Alison was predeceased by her grandparents, parents, and older brother, Dwight, but leaves to grieve her loving husband, mother-in-law Olive, younger brother Guy (Catherine), sister-in-law Cindy (Bill), brother-in-law Alan, nephew Dillon, four nieces, Carly, AJ, Elizabeth, and Olivia, and one great-nephew Connolly.
Alison and Ron would like to thank all of the amazing staff, right down to the cleaners, at Selkirk Hospital for the wonderful care they provided over the last month and the friendly respite folks who spent time with Alison regularly over the years.
In lieu of flowers, watch a sunset reflecting on the small things you can do and which, unfortunately, others can't, or donations may be made to the St. Boniface Foundation.
