It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, Jacques Catellier, at the age of 85. He reunited with mom, Irène Catellier (Labossière) on March 19, 2025.
Jacques was a man of unwavering work ethic and a deep love for his land and cattle. For over 50 years, he tilled his soil, harvested his crops and nurtured his cattle. He understood being a farmer was not always easy, but he faced the challenges with honour and determination. He knew the joys of harvest, the hardships of the seasons, and the importance of helping his fellow neighbour. His legacy is one of resilience, hard work and perseverance. He will be missed dearly.
He leaves to mourn his girls, Joanne (Alain Barnabé), Andrée (Alain Huberdeau), Claudelle (Dan Beaudette), Chantal (Allan Goertzen); grand-children, Justin, Brianne, Daniel, Lysanne, Alex, Janique, Sylvie and Miguel; step-grandchildren, Heather Beaudette (Kyle Burky), Roger Beaudette; great-grandchildren, Nora and Theodore Burky.
He also leaves behind his sisters, Irène Roy, Huguette (Laurent Robidoux) and Pauline Roy.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lucien and Blanche Catellier, his siblings, Gabriel (Anita), Lucienne (Emmanuel Godin), Gisèle Grand-Maison and brothers-in-law, Dominique and Antonio Roy.
He also leaves to mourn Nicole (Marcel Courcelles), Marcien (Suzanne), Antonio (Lorraine), Rachelle (Gilbert Vigier), Thérèse, Angèle (Tom Kostelnyk), and Norbert Alarie, and Cécile (Etienne Hebert).
He was predeceased by Hortense Alarie, Diane Burke, Rita Couture, Lorraine Rondeau, Ronald, Patrick, Marcel, Adrien and Angeline Labossière.
The family would like to thank the staff at le Chalet Malouin, De Salaberry District Health Centre, and le Repos Jolys for the great care they provided to dad throughout his stay.
Prayers will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., at Paroisse Saint-Malo Parish, 147 Rue St Malo, Saint Malo, MB.
Those wishing to honour Jacques’ memory may make a donation to the Chalet Malouin, Box 1010, St. Malo, Manitoba, R0A 1T0.
