GRACE RUBY ROBINSON

(nee TAYLOR)

October 17, 1930 – March 28, 2025

Grace Ruby Robinson (nee Taylor) passed away on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Dinsdale Personal Care Home in Brandon at the age of 94. Grace was born on October 17, 1930, to Jim and Tillie Taylor and raised in Regina, SK.

In the summer of 1953, mom and her best friend Flo Carter travelled to Clear Lake for a holiday. It was on that holiday that she met the love of her life, Allan Robinson. On February 27, 1954, they were married in Regina and then moved to Hartney, MB to begin their life together on the farm. It was quite a change moving to the country, but Mom was quick to adapt to life on the farm.

Mom and Dad had many happy years there and raised two children, Cheryl and Jamie. Mom was diagnosed with cancer in 1982 and lost her left leg above the knee. This was a big change, but being the trooper she was, she adapted with time and continued to enjoy life.

In 1987 they retired from the farm and moved to Brandon. They enjoyed their retired life with many camping trips in the summer as well as a few winters down to Arizona. Mom and Dad loved their move to Brandon as they were able to see their children and were especially thrilled when the grandkids started arriving. She loved to listen to the grandkids’ stories as well as attending their sporting activities. She was always up for a good joke or two as well.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Allan in 2006; parents Jim and Tillie Taylor; sister and brother-in-law Shirley (Bill) Ciz.

She leaves to mourn her daughter Cheryl (Rick) Feasby and son Jamie (Sandra) as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A family graveside service will take place at Rosewood Memorial Gardens Columbarium at a later date. Those who wish to donate may do so to a charity of their choice.

We want to thank the entire staff at Dinsdale Personal Care Home for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Mom while she was living there. She couldn’t have had a better place to call “Home” for the last nine and a half years.

  • I’m very sorry to hear of Grace's passing but what a great long life she had! Remember her and your dad being at our place many times for a visit and how she always commented how she loved my little nose lol and being at your place and riding Jamie’s mini bike. A lotta great times and she was always so nice! Thoughts are with you all at this sad time ❤️ - Posted by: Donna Brown (Friend) on: Apr 19, 2025

  • so sorry for your loss. Many years ago I had the best experience with babysitting for Grace and Allen. Most of the time it was bedtime so I really just watched tv while you kids slept, such fond memories I have. Later visits I would see Grace when I came home to see my Mom, such great talks we’d have. - Posted by: Barbara Calverley McQueen (Friends old neighbour) on: Apr 06, 2025
