Ruth was born in Winnipeg to parents Andrew and Anna Hadaller.
After high school, Ruth worked as a pharmacist assistant and drug clerk for five years. She attended Business College upon graduation, then entered into the insurance industry just as a supervisor assistant and later as supervisor for a total of 24 years.
Ruth loved playing the piano and was very proud of her Baldwin piano, which the late world renowned Liberace also played.
Ruth and her dad Andrew, who played the violin, performed for small dances and social gatherings. Ruth played in dance bands, downtown Winnipeg in various lounges, CFB, and Gimli Airbase for 25 years. Ruth also played piano in senior centers.
Ruth was married to her late husband Angus (Pat) Paterson who served on the Winnipeg Police Force, and was an Air Force Police veteran.
Ruth is predeceased by her brother Leo Hadaller, and his wife Doris Hadaller.
Ruth is survived by her niece Linda Hadaller and husband Michael and sons, Zachary and Alexander Zona. She is also survived by her step-nephews, Frank (Wendy) Seidel, Larry Seidel, and step-nieces, Janice Crerar, Debbie (Bob), Braid and Nina (Laszlo) Seidel.
Ruth spent the last phase of her life at West Park Manor Personal Care Home. She spoke highly of the staff and appreciated the kind and compassionate care that she received. Thank you to all of the staff, especially 2E.
A private family gathering will take place.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to CancerCare Manitoba would be appreciated.
