It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Randall (Randy) Pruden at the Poseidon Personal Care Home on March 29, 2025, at the age of 70.
Randy will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Shauna Rae and Lisa; his sister Rosa; his brothers Wayne, Andre, Garth, Darren, and Darryl, along with their families; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Darcy.
Randy "Mr. Snooker" was well known in the snooker, 9 ball, and 8 ball world in Winnipeg, Canada, and in North America. He also played in England and made numerous trips to the BCA and VNEA events in Las Vegas. Randy’s accomplishments, too many to list, included: CBSA Canadian 9 ball champion, Calgary Classic champion, Maritime Snooker champion, VNEA open 9 ball division champion, and countless provincial titles in snooker, 9 ball, 8 ball and 100s of regional titles. Not only was Randy an accomplished player in his own right, he mentored many young players in Winnipeg, with a few becoming professional players.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all those who cared for Randy during his declining health. A special thank you to the staff at Windsor Park Place, the team on the 3rd floor of Poseidon Personal Care Home, and to Irene and her family. Your care and compassion did not go unnoticed.
The family would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Chuck and Michelle Wilson for their unwavering care and support to Randy throughout the years.
Cremation has taken place, and there will be no formal funeral service. We invite you to celebrate Randy's life in whatever way feels right for you. If you wish, donations may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia organization of your choice.

I am saddened for Randy's family for their loss, and I'm also a little saddened for the loss of someone who was prolific in my youth. You see, Randy and I were both residents at St. Joseph's Vocational School, otherwise known as St. Jo's. At that time, my last name was Seiden, and as he would say, we were "the two Randy's," and that "We Randy's have to stick together." But we didn't. Randy was a little older than me, and at times stuck up for me when I was bullied by others. He was always so proud of his family, standing in school to tell tales of times together with his brothers whenever he could. He laughingly told us all that when he was hanging out with them and their older friends, that if there was five plus him, they said they were 5 and a half. He was always included. It was in my final year at St. Jo's when he introduced me to snooker. He was already skilled beyond his age, and I simply thought he was great! As he was teaching me the basics of play, he said that anyone can be good as long as they keep practicing, And he did keep practicing, and he did become a great player. We were quickly separated by time, distance, and circumstance when we both left St. Jo's, but over the years as I read of his accomplishments on the table, I was brought back to the times of our youth and I would proudly tell whomever would listen that Randy Pruden taught me to play pool. And though this is a grey day for me as I think so far back to those times, I am happy to see that he has left so many loving family and friends to carry on his memory through his own tales and through his many accomplishments; so many people who deeply cared for him. This was his greatest win. - Posted by: Randy Clinch (Seiden) (Friend from youth) on: Apr 05, 2025

So sorry to hear of Randy passing from Dementia after a fairly short timeframe😣 He was one of the best at Las Vegas establishment by The Bay in the ‘70s and a supremely talented and confident snooker player. I loved to play in tourneys and one on one matches🥇 My condolences to family and friends on his passing - Posted by: Rick Nilsson (Friend from snooker in ‘70s) on: Apr 05, 2025
