Date of Passing: Apr 07, 2025
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKANDI LEE LESNIEWSKI (OLESEN)
Sadly, on Monday April 7, 2025, Kandi passed away with her loving parents by her side at the age of 46. Left behind are her parents Lloyd and Barb; brother Curtis(Shannon); her nieces Taylor and Chaya and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Kandi had a great love for animals. Bridgette her Pug was her most trusted ally for years, along with her kitties.
Kandi was always friendly, funny, animated and had no problem telling a story. Kandi enjoyed trying new recipes and her meatballs were the best. She would often talk about her Mexican Mac’n’Cheese being her favorite. Those that visited Kandi were always told to leave with a candle. Kandi was blessed with a very good friend network who she spoke very highly of and she loved them like family.
Kandi’s smile and laugh will be missed but never forgotten. She will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff at St Boniface hospital for taking care of Kandi and making her comfortable over the past weeks. Thank you as well to the Home Care Aides for looking after her at home.
Cremation has taken place.
At the request of the family, no flowers please. A small Family service will be planned at a later date.

14 years of adventures, bingo, canning, gardening, making progress, sharing recipes, shenanigans while working together, and so much more. When my Mother-in-law was terminally ill and my wedding had to be moved up and done in a hospital, Kandi was there when my blood was not. Instead of being at the hospital chapel with us she told me to get my butt to the ceremony while she stayed at my home and made food, picked up our small cake and made sure that despite all the emotional turmoil of the day there was still a reception to bring joy and light. She was my soul sister, adoptive Auntie to my kids and one of the few people in this world who truly gave more than she ever asked. When my life hit the rocks, she was there to make me laugh again, we shared heartache and joy in equal measure. My daughters and I are devastated at her loss but we will carry her with us and always tell our favorite memories. They say you are never truly gone so long as people speak your name and hers will be spoken in loving memory so long as we live. Til we meet again Kandi-pants, we love you. - Posted by: Taylor (Dear friend) on: Apr 15, 2025

I don’t know where to start Kandi…. U left such a void in mine and my kids life that it’s hard to grasp that your gone. We spent about 5 out of 7 days a week together for a few hours each of those days when u were home. As soon as u were done work you would call .I know you always said you appreciated us bc we came to visit and not just call. Sometimes we laughed that we should just get a house for you, me and the kids. During your stay in the hospital I became very sick but u always reassured me that you would be out soon and our visits would be almost every day again. I knew your health care workers and which ones were your favorites and I looked so forward to when you would return home. We shared our stories of pain from our past and also the joys we could laugh about over the years. From Saturday shopping when u were able to be out and about to yard sales, and to the grocery stores and maybe a quick visit to Dals. Heck we made a visit out of anything…. Your appts I attended over the last year or so were always an adventure because sometimes we thought the wheelchair was gonna come right through the front window the way he would drive, but in the end it was a good laugh when we got back to the apartment. I was so proud of the steps u made and how hard you fought the last several months. Not hearing I love you Nic everyday before bed hurts and I miss it so much. I’d fight any battle for you and you would do the same for me. The love we had was like sisters and neither of us had a sister so we kind of adopted each other. From bbqs on your balcony to sitting on the side of your bed, u made me feel safe and loved. We had so many plans for the future and as the days go by I realize that you aren’t here and it hurts. It hurts more than I ever could have imagined. I feel alone. I feel lost. I feel numb and I feel scared… I love you Kandi more than you may ever have known. - Posted by: Nicole (Bestest friend/ sister) on: Apr 14, 2025

Met Kandi @ Club Regent many years ago & would run into her occasionally in Transcona @ the Safeway & Tim Hortons. Kandi always had a smile on her face & a story to share...was a pleasure running into her. I was so sad to read about her passing in the paper. May cherished memories be a comfort to everyone who had the pleasure to be a part of Kandi's life. Kandi, it's hard to believe that you're gone. I keep waiting every night at 9pm for the facetime call to happen with you. It's been hard not having you around and having our daily chats on how you're doing. Gracie & Ziggy have been close by to my side extra clingy like pugs do, as we navigate our days without you in it. We know that you probably have Bridgette up on your lap, giving her some sweet pets & loving on her, spoiling her rotten like she deserves. You're up in heaven now, free from pain and able to walk no problem. Jesus has you safe in his arms and is taking care of you now. You're an amazing soul Kandi. I will miss your laugh, your smile, your heart that you wore on your sleeve. The love you poured out on our friendship was amazing. I miss our moments when we would work together remotely and log off the phone lines for a moment to share a funny moment or help each other out when a tricky situation would come up. Getting into trouble with you at work was fun and well worth it in my opinion. You will be forever missed but never forgotten. Save me some room up there! When the roll is called up yonder I sure hope I have a seat right next to you! Love you so much! - Posted by: Chelsea Adair (Best friend) on: Apr 14, 2025

We were very saddened to hear of Kandi’s passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Kandi several times through my daughter, Nicole. She had the biggest heart. I hope she knew how much she was appreciated by our family. Kandi and Nicole were each other’s strongest supporters during the past decade, helping each other through many difficult times. They loved each other like sisters. Kandi’s passing has left a huge void in Nicole’s heart. May you rest in peace like you so greatly deserve. - Posted by: Shirley Knowles (Mother of her closest friend) on: Apr 13, 2025
