Peacefully on April 11, 2025, Mom passed away surrounded by family at River East Personal Care Home.
Wanda was a proud wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma. She was predeceased by her loving husband Bernard, son Les (Laureen), and numerous family members.
Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her remaining sons, Ben (Carol-deceased), Jerry (Elizabeth), and Ed (Cher), and their extended families.
Mom was born in Vilnius, Lithuania, on July 14, 1927. She met her husband when they were teenagers. They immigrated to Winnipeg after Second World War to forge a new life, and Mom was fiercely proud to become a Canadian citizen.
Mom was a loving and happy person whose life was defined by hard work, generosity, integrity, and kindness. She possessed a tireless work ethic and greeted everyone with a smile. She was loved by all and easily made friends at all the many places she worked. She unselfishly gave freely of her time and energy, always putting others before herself. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings, cooking, going on trips, reading, walking, listening to music, and especially her love of laughter.
Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the staff at River East PCH for treating Mom with such compassionate care and dignity.
To honour her wishes, cremation has taken place, and interment alongside her husband will take place at a later date.

Offering my sincere condolences to my friends Jerry and Ed, as well as to all of your family. By all accounts your mother was a wonderful woman, and she certainly instilled in you the amazing qualities that I came to know. - Posted by: Larry McGaw (Family friend) on: Apr 19, 2025
