Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN KRUPINSKI
With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of Jean Krupinski who left us April 6, 2025 at the age of 104.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Arlene (Krawchuk) and Blaine, granddaughters Dana and Lauren. Jean was predeceased by her husband Walter and her son Richard.
Jean was born in Fisher Branch, Manitoba and spent her childhood working on her family’s farm. Always kind, obedient and reliable, Jean’s big act of rebellion came when she picked up and moved to Winnipeg, determined to make her own way in life. This was very impressive for a young woman in the 1930’s.
Jean rented a room from a kind family upon her arrival in the city and also helped out in their shop from time to time. She found steady work in sewing factories and was able to hone her skills.
After meeting Walter, the love of her life, they used their savings to buy their first house. She often regaled her granddaughters with tales of what life was like in this house before refrigerators were available.
Jean provided occasional seamstress services from home for quite some time while taking care of her family – including making outfits for her kids’ teachers, gowns for graduates, bridesmaids and brides, along with providing basic alterations.
Jean enjoyed keeping busy, but in her few moments of down time she enjoyed reading, quilting, knitting, gardening, baking and sudoku. She was a big fan of Dancing With The Stars, but was very disappointed when they replaced Tom Bergeron.
Jean was an excellent cook whose meals and desserts were enjoyed by everyone. She spoiled her family by always having fresh cookies, cupcakes, muffins, perogies, and borscht available.
Jean was fiercely independent and strong, living in her own home until she passed. She was blessed with great health and determination, and, in turn, she blessed everyone around her with kindness and care.
As per Jean’s wishes, a private ceremony was held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made, in Jean’s name, to D’Arcy’s Animal Rescue Centre (D’Arcy’s ARC) on Century Street.

So sorry to read about the loss of your mother. Mothers are the glue which hold families together and once they are gone, you feel cast adrift, but remember you will always hold her in your heart. - Posted by: Christine Hallem Ward (Friend) on: Apr 19, 2025

Jean was one of my favorite customers. She always smiled and was kind to everyone. I helped her when she lost the love of her life and her only son. We would talk and share feelings during our one hour meeting. She was special. My sincere condolences to her family. - Posted by: Bernadette Normandeau (Friend) on: Apr 19, 2025
